Efficient way to overcome your fear is rationalizing it. For example, if you have a fear of spiders and you have a spider in your room, you can say to yourself that the spider can not hurt you, because it is so little and that it is even useful, because you will not have any flies near you. If you are afraid of certain situations the same principle applies. Let's take flying. To overcome this fear it might help to actually take a flight and then during the experience, say to yourself that you are okay and there is no danger. That way your brain will learn that in that situation there is no threat and it can be calm.

Of course, there can be some deep rooted fears which can be really difficult for you to deal with. In that case, try to find a professional psychologist who will help you and will show you how to live with your fears.
